Friday, December 30, Dating as a Pagan: A Rant Ok, it’s no secret by now that I’m single. While I usually don’t complain about it, I know I don’t want to spend the rest of my life alone. Here lately I’ve been dating a little bit as in going on dates with people and I’m starting to get rather frustrated with it again. I hate labeling people, and I’m all about the Coexist movement, but I have to admit I’m sick of trying to date Christian males! The last person I went on a date with started talking about the bible to me and asked what religion I am. I, of course, believe in complete honesty so I told him I am Pagan. That brought on a pretty fun talk.

Ezekiel in a vision of God at Jerusalem is shown the image of jealousy, the chambers of imagery, the mourners for Tammuz, the worshipers towards the sun and God’s wrath for their idolatry. Leave idolatry and heathen worship; touch not any unclean thing! To keep the country united, Roman emperors began to give Christian meaning to pagan rituals. See Strong’s Concordance for murmur, murmured, murmurers, murmuring and murmurings.

According to Twitter logic, this is supposed to be an indication that you were wrong about whatever you said. If so many people are making fun of you, and so few have expressed their approval by pressing the little heart icon, surely you must be mistaken in your view. It will not surprise you to learn that I get ratioed quite a bit. I may well be the most ratioed person on Twitter. Yet I have found that the ratio more often indicates the correctness of a statement than it does incorrectness.
That does not always hold, of course, but I think it did this morning when I fell into another ratio because of a tweet about yoga. Here’s what I said: There are many excellent ways to get in shape that do not involve participating in Hindu worship. It is just a given, in their minds, that Christians should feel free to engage in pagan spiritual practices. The matter is not worth discussing.
True History of Islam, Mohammed and the Koran
Single US-Republican I think it can work out but it’s very difficult. My Mom is a Catholic and my father is an atheist, and they’ve been married for over 30 years. They do have fights sometimes but overall have a very strong relationship. BUT it has taken a lot of work to be that way, and I know sometimes it is hard on my Mom because my father can tend to be disrespectiful about her beliefs.
I’m not sure about the kid thing.
In AD he passed the ‘Edict of Milan’ which ordered the tolerance of all religions in the Empire, commanded the end of the persecution of Christianity and the return of confiscated church property.
I read your article about not dating non-Christians, and I agree with you to some degree. My biggest problem with this article is how you make it sound like a sin to love someone. What if by me spending my time with him and loving him for who he is I bring him closer to Christ? I guess it takes a certain kind of person to love and accept those who are not perfect. I would like to think that the Lord is one of those people.
In fact I know he is, so then why is it so wrong to love one who is not in love with Christ? Well, Alicia, you are not alone in your opinions. I received many complaints for telling Jessica to stop liking a non-Christian guy. That hit a nerve! Let me clear up this misunderstanding:
Evidence for Jesus and Parallel Pagan “Crucified Saviors” Examined
Christian or really Pagan? While such idealisation of Christianity can be expected from clerics and true believers in the faith, there have been other voices who see a European identity defined through Christianity as useful even if its not actually true. Even staunchly secular anti-clerical France has not been immune from pushing the importance of faith.
Yalda is a Syriac word meaning birth.

Pagan Origins of the Christmas Tree
The fear of course is that a pagan connection to Christian words and symbols will contaminate Christian faith and acts as a barrier to salvation. What these protectors of Christian propriety may not realise is that a far, far greater evil lies among them, hiding in plain sight on the walls, in their diaries and even festering away in the bottom right hand corner of the computer screen.
I am, of course, referring to – the Calendar.
Let me say that loud and clear:
Mithras is often represented as carrying a lamb on his shoulders, just as Jesus is. Midnight services were found in both religions. Petra, the sacred rock of Mithraism, became Peter, the foundation of the Christian Church. Itu derivative of Mitu or Mitra is considered as the Vegetation-deity. It is said that Mithra or [the] Sun took birth in the Cave on December 25th. He travelled far and wide. He has twelve satellites, which are taken as the Sun’s disciples His symbol is the Lamb The worship of the Indo-Persian god Mithra dates back centuries to millennia preceding the common era.
The god is found as “Mitra” in the Indian Vedic religion, which is over 3, years old, by conservative estimates. When the Iranians separated from their Indian brethren, Mitra became known as “Mithra” or “Mihr,” as he is also called in Persian. Mithra as Sun God The Indian Mitra was essentially a solar deity, representing the “friendly” aspect of the sun.
So too was the Persian derivative Mithra, who was a “benevolent god” and the bestower of health, wealth and food. Mithra also seems to have been looked upon as a sort of Prometheus, for the gift of fire.
History vs The Da Vinci Code
The very last people to receive the Faith were the rural folk who clung to the worship of the old gods and the customs of their ancestors long after Christianity had become thoroughly established in the cities. It became fraught with imagery of devils, horned gods, and all manner of wild witchery which paganism was sometimes, in fact, fraught with. Who needs all that stuff about sin, dying to self and the need for redemption? The great blunder of the human race was when the old gods were swept away by the evil Judeo-Christian God.
We have to return to our natural state of innocence with the gods and especially the goddesses of Nature that reigned before God mucked everything up.
To address the concept of Mother Mary, the Holy Mother, we have to look at the fact that most pagan people before the rise of Christianity worshiped a Mother Goddess or more.
See Article History Christianity, major religion , stemming from the life, teachings, and death of Jesus of Nazareth the Christ, or the Anointed One of God in the 1st century ad. Beddru Flemming has already admitted his mistake on this one. It may be a corruption or variation of the name “Buddha” therefore perhaps Chinese or Indian in origin but that is just speculation. In an interview for the “Rational Response Squad” Flemming admits he should not have included this one:
Whether it be a sign of feebleness of character, or of common sense, the fact is, that religious feuds have never been allowed to prevail among us.
Few bother to read and understand what is written in the Bible or think critically about what Christian doctrine implies. Each point listed below presents a claim for questioning the authenticity of Christianity. In total, they lay out a convincing case that Christianity is untrue. In Christianity, we see none of these elements. This strongly implies that Christianity is a myth and possesses no intrinsic truth. Gary Shadle is a theist who volunteered to construct a rebuttal to each of the listed reasons.

It could also mean whatever natural or physical laws created them.
It has been contended, and many still believe, that in ancient Rome the doctrines of Christ found no proselytes, except among the lower and poorer classes of citizens. That is certainly a noble picture which represents the new faith as searching among the haunts of poverty and slavery, seeking to inspire faith, hope, and charity in their occupants; to transform them from things into human beings; to make them believe in the happiness of a future life; to alleviate their present sufferings; to redeem their children from shame and servitude; to proclaim them equal to their masters.
But the gospel found its way also to the mansions of the masters, nay, even to the palace of the Caesars. The discoveries lately made on this subject are startling, and constitute a new chapter in the history of imperial Rome. We have been used to consider early Christian history and primitive Christian art as matters of secondary importance, and hardly worthy the attention of the classical student. Thus, none of the four or five hundred volumes on the topography of ancient Rome speaks of the basilicas raised by Constantine; of the church of S.
Maria Antiqua, built side by side with the Temple of Vesta, the two worships dwelling together as it were, for nearly a century; of the Christian burial-grounds; of the imperial mausoleum near S. Peter’s; of the porticoes, several miles in length, which led from the centre of the city to the churches of S. Lorenzo; of the palace of the Caesars transformed into the residence of the Popes.
Mithra the Pagan Christ
Attridge, translated by Linda M. A Commentary Minneapolis, MN: Since it was discovered in a monastery in Constantinople and published by P. Bryennios in , the Didache or Teaching of the Twelve Apostles has continued to be one of the most disputed of early Christian texts. It has been depicted by scholars as anything between the original of the Apostolic Decree c.
It bears no date itself, nor does it make reference to any datable external event, yet the picture of the Church which it presents could only be described as primitive, reaching back to the very earliest stages of the Church’s order and practice in a way which largely agrees with the picture presented by the NT, while at the same time posing questions for many traditional interpretations of this first period of the Church’s life.

Dar-al-Jil, , p. Islamic leaders go to extraordinary means to hide the Gospel of Jesus from Muslims. Just as Satan wails at a crucifix at an exorcism – the Islamic cult member normally wails at the sight of the Christian Bible. A false prophet can always be recognized, because he attacks the true prophet. A false Bible can be recognized, because it contradicts the true Bible. Islam goes one step further. First Islam tries to gain acceptance by attesting to the truth and validity of both the Christian and Jewish holy books.
But, it then clearly steps out of the light, exposing itself to its diabolical agenda, by contradicting and falsifying the facts and teachings in both these books. Also, question the “dark side” of a Religion such as Islam that requires you to only recite salah and prayers like the Namaz, in a language Arabic you do not understand. All Muslims, Arab and non-Arab alike, are obliged to pray in Arabic.
Even if you do not understand a single word. Muslims are also required to read the Qur’an in Arabic, in order to attain any graces at all from Allah. It is not necessary that the person can understand even a word of what he is reading. This is what the warning means that Jesus left us with, when he said; “insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
